[Gas Newspaper = Reporter Park Gwi-cheol] Daemyung IT Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Ho-young), a comprehensive gas meter manufacturer, introduced an additional industrial gas meter error test stand and began full-scale operation early last month.

Daemyung IT has been operating an industrial error test bench from Innotek, Germany, since 2006, but has recently introduced new equipment this year to respond quickly to the increase in volume.

This error test bench is also equipped with Innotek's equipment, and is compact in width and length (2m), allowing installation in narrow spaces. To shorten the test time, a laser displacement sensor is used to detect the rotor.

Accordingly, while Daemyung IT's existing error test bench can test up to 2,500㎥, this new test bench can test up to 1,000㎥. Accordingly, by operating two error test benches, it has become possible to provide prompt service to customers.

“This industrial gas meter error test stand has shortened the test time to one-tenth of that of the existing test stand and drastically improved the uncertainty of the system,” said Jinpal Jeong, managing director of Daemyung IT’s Technology Research Institute. “It has enabled us to test and verify products directly within the factory without having to load them up and take them to a verification agency, which has not only improved productivity but also secured competitiveness.”

Founded in January 2000, Daemyung IT imported turbine and rotary gas meters, and in 2007, it became the first in Korea to produce membrane gas meters, G10, 16, and 25, and is currently producing G1.6 to G40. Daemyung IT’s Hwaseong Plant 1 can produce about 500,000 household gas meters per year, and Plant 2 has the facilities and testing equipment to produce about 20,000 industrial gas meters per year. Membrane gas meters are exported to Southeast Asia and Central and South America, and export volumes are increasing every year.

In addition, Daemyung IT is growing into a comprehensive manufacturer of measuring instruments, including producing gas volume conversion devices (temperature and pressure compensators), industrial water meters, and accumulating calorimeters.
